Knight Jarecki
Storyteller and Broadcaster currently working out of the Pacific Northwest.
From the time I was 8 years old, I’ve wanted to be a sports broadcaster. 14 years later, I am now entering my 8th year of sports broadcasting.
Currently, I am based out of Roseburg, Oregon, where I’m employed as a Sports/News Broadcaster for Brooke Communications. I provide play-by-play/color commentating for Roseburg High School Sports on sports station ‘The Score’ 92.3FM/1490AM and produce a live video simulcast on our youtube channel.
Additionally, I co-host two sports shows — a fall-specific The Umpqua Basin Tailgate Show and The DC Sports Spotlight. I also anchor the 5pm news weekdays on News Radio 93.9 FM/1240KQEN. My responsibilities also include daily recorded sports, weather, and news updates on 104.5 Sam FM and Best Country 103. Outside of radio in Roseburg, I also write and take photos for our local newspaper The News-Review.
I graduated from the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication in June 2024. At the UO, I served as the Sports Director of our campus radio station, KWVA 88.1 FM. With KWVA, I hosted my own sports show weekly from 6-7 p.m. and broadcast Oregon Volleyball and Softball for our flagship station.
Throughout my time at UO, I also served as the voice of Oregon Acrobatics and Tumbling, and Lacrosse as well as Bushnell University Baseball, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Volleyball; Lane Community College Men’s & Women’s Basketball and Thurston High School Football and Boys & Girls Basketball.
In addition to my radio play-by-play experience, I have also done freelance broadcasting for the Pac-12 Network, ESPN+ and the OSAA during my time in Oregon.
Outside of radio, I’ve spent four summers announcing summer collegiate baseball. I served as a broadcaster for the Conejo Oaks Baseball Club in the California Collegiate League in 2021 before heading north to the West Coast League in 2022. I’ve broadcast the last three summers with the Springfield Drifters Baseball Club and took on an elevated front office role as the Director of Media and Broadcasting in 2024.
Prior to the University of Oregon, I began my broadcasting career in high school. I started a live-streaming program during my Sophomore year at Bakersfield Christian High School. At BCHS, I broadcast Football, Boys & Girls Basketball, Baseball and Water Polo.
Sports have always been a huge part of my life, and being able to broadcast sports has been a dream come true. I now find myself constantly striving to become a better storyteller as I live out my childhood dream and pursue my passion for sports media.
